About Me

I began K9 Nose Work in 2017 with my 2 year old Australian Shepherd. We started out in Agility, Flyball and Dock Diving to channel her energy and drive, but all they did was add to her over arousal and build frustration.
Once we started K9 Nose Work classes in January 2017 we never looked back. Pixie is an incredibly talented search dog and I learned so much along the way. I discovered how much I enjoy watching dogs work, and the science of training, and decided to pursue my CNWI.
I have been a member of NACSW since 2017, a Certified Nosework Instructor (CNWI) since April 2022, and currently trialing at the Elite level with my Australian Shepherd.

Pixie is my first sport dog, and she's a LOT of dog. I had to become a better trainer with consistent, precise timing and direction to be able to live successfully with her. She's easily frustrated by inconsistent direction and slow cues, and she's not shy about expressing her frustration.

Prior to starting on this K9 Nose Work journey with my current Australian Shepherd, I had another Australian Shepherd that enjoyed agility and herding, 2 Shiba Inus, and a Rottweiler.

Growing up I was a competitive equestrian in the disciplines of Eventing and Dressage.

I was a volunteer for CANTER New England, and assisted in helping retired racehorses find second careers after their racing careers were over.
